Superfood Brownies

In today’s recipe, we’re using our highly-nutritious sprouted wheat flour along with organic cocoa and coconut sugar. Raw cocoa, in addition to having a rich depth of flavor, is known as a super-food. So go ahead, indulge with confidence.

Ingredients:

Brownies:

1 cup organic coconut oil
3 cups coconut sugar
1 Tbsp. vanilla
8 large eggs
2 cups Organic Grains Whole Wheat flour
1 cup organic dark cocoa powder
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. sea salt

Ganache:

16 oz. organic semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
1 cup heavy cream (or coconut milk for a dairy-free option)
1 tsp. orange zest

Directions:

Brownies:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Cream the coconut oil, coconut sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  • Add the Organic Grains Whole Wheat flour, cocoa, and salt; mix until just combined, about 1 minute.
  • Pour batter into a lightly greased pan (at least 9 x 13 x 3 inches)
    Bake 30-35 minutes (slightly undercooked is better than overcooked and dry).
  • Cool and cover with ganache if desired.

Ganache:

  • Boil cream with the orange zest in a medium saucepan. Remove from the heat.
  • Place chocolate in a glass or metal bowl and pour the hot cream mixture over the chocolate.
  • Stir with a wire whisk until smooth.
  • Pour over cooled brownies and spread.
